The Landscape Designer/Sales Position serves as the primary point of contact for our design/build clients, overseeing all aspects of client relationships from initial contact through project completion. This role involves client communication, site evaluation, conceptual design, project estimating, sales, project management, and ensuring overall client satisfaction. The Landscape Designer is committed to delivering outstanding service, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the company’s growth through new sales and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation and Qualification:
- Generate and qualify leads to build a robust client pipeline.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities by cultivating and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
Client Relationship Management:
- Manage all aspects of the client relationship including communication, conceptual design, project estimating, selling the job, project management, and ensuring job quality.
- Ensure client satisfaction upon project completion.
Project Management:
- Design, propose, sell, and manage the installation of $750,000 - $1,000,000 in commercial and residential landscape design projects annually.
- Ensure the scope and quality of work meet company standards.
- Coordinate job specifics with accounting, operations, and production managers.
- Interface with clients, operations, production managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate completion of projects.
Sales and Business Development:
- Identify, propose, and sell enhancement opportunities to improve client properties.
- Conduct face-to-face selling with homeowners and commercial clients.
- Accurately manage and report sales activities regularly to management
Team Leadership:
- Train, motivate, lead, and evaluate design/build team members.
- Assist management in projects that benefit the team and further company goals.
Administrative and Compliance:
- Prepare bids and proposals and review with management for accuracy and marketability.
- Collect and file pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all safety procedures are followed and accidents are documented and reported.
- Maintain detailed records of project activities, cost reports, and job hours.
Main Job Tasks:
- Develop and present landscape conceptual drawings and sales proposals.
- Negotiate with clients and ensure all client needs are addressed promptly.
- Inspect ongoing landscape projects regularly to ensure quality and adherence to schedule and budget.
- Manage and maintain customer database.
- Participate in sales and company events.
- Understand and comply with company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Assist in developing sales and promotional materials and direct marketing strategies.
Requirements:
- A landscape professional with exceptional interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
- Minimum 3+ years of landscape design experience in a landscape designer role.
- Bachelor’s degree in landscape design or Horticulture preferred.
- Articulate in both written and verbal communication; knowledge of Spanish is a plus.
- Strong organizational and conflict management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed targeted sales budgets.
- Proficiency with computer software and applications (Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, CRM systems).
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
- A passion for customer service and a winning attitude.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
