We are a growing landscaping and lawn care company seeking a driven, hands-on Director of Operations to take full ownership of our day-to-day business operations. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate leader to step into a high-trust role and help shape the future of a company in its most exciting growth phase.
You will effectively run the business — managing crews, overseeing client relationships, controlling costs, and building the systems that allow us to scale. The owner will step back from daily operations and serve in a strategic, visionary capacity, trusting you to lead.
Core Responsibilities
Crew & Field Operations
- Lead and manage landscape installation crews from scheduling through project completion
- Oversee lawn care and maintenance crews, ensuring quality standards and route efficiency
- Conduct daily crew briefings, assign tasks, and resolve on-site issues in real time
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members follow company standards
- Communicate fluently with Spanish-speaking crew members and bilingual clients
Business Operations
- Own weekly scheduling, capacity planning, and equipment maintenance coordination
- Monitor job profitability and flag cost overruns before they impact margins
- Manage vendor and supplier relationships, including negotiating pricing
- Maintain accurate job records, crew time logs, and project documentation
Team & Culture
- Recruit, onboard, and performance-manage crew leads and field staff
- Build a positive, accountable team culture that retains great people
- Serve as the primary escalation point for team conflicts and client issues
Client & Growth
- Own client satisfaction — respond to issues, follow up on completed work, drive reviews
- Identify upsell opportunities and work with owner on pricing and service expansion
- Contribute ideas and execution to revenue growth and new service development
- Track key metrics: customer reviews and crew productivity
What We're Looking For

- Honest, dependable, and highly accountable — someone the owner can fully trust
- Passionate about landscaping, quality work, and growing a business
Preferred
- Prior experience as an operations manager, general manager, or COO
- Experience with job scheduling or field service software
- Track record of improving team performance or growing a service business
