Landscape Construction Crew Leader (Experienced Only)

Position Overview

Sonoma Mountain Landscape is hiring a high-performing Landscape Construction Crew Leader to manage and execute landscape installation projects. This is a working leadership role for someone who can take ownership of a job, lead a crew effectively, and deliver quality results without constant oversight.

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have proven field leadership experience in landscape construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a landscape construction crew daily
• Execute projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
• Read and interpret landscape plans and layouts accurately
• Perform and oversee:
• Irrigation installation and troubleshooting
• Planting and layout
• Soil prep, sod, mulch, and grading
• Basic hardscape installation (as applicable)
• Maintain job site efficiency, organization, and safety
• Ensure all work meets company quality standards
• Communicate clearly with supervisors regarding progress and issues
• Manage materials, tools, and crew productivity

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• 3–5+ years landscape construction experience (required)
• Proven experience leading a crew (required)
• Ability to read and follow landscape plans independently
• Strong working knowledge of irrigation systems and installation practices
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive truck/trailer
• Ability to work full days in outdoor conditions and perform physical labor
• Dependable, punctual, and accountable

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Experience operating equipment (skid steer, trenchers, etc.)
• Experience with layout and job coordination

Compensation

• Competitive hourly or salary pay based on experience

• This position requires hands-on work in the field—not just supervision

Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour
