JOB OVERVIEW
Under little or no supervision of the Landscape maintenance supervisor, maintain the common areas and clubhouse free of weeds, trash, pinecones, bushes and plants. Will trim anything that does not belong to the original landscape design.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Maintain all common areas free of weeds, trash, pinecones, metal, anything that does not belong to the original landscape design. Identify and diagnose any safety issues we may have to prevent any injury and take appropriate action to resolve the problem. Assist a co-worker when it is necessary. Maintain all the power tools and hand tools in excellent condition. Hand water flowering pots at the clubhouse. Operate power equipment and hand tools safely. Follow the landscape maintenance instructions. Report any problems and safety issues to the Landscape Manager. Make sure the designed area to work is safe, placing safety cones. Perform any other projects that may be required.
WORKING CONDITIONS - Work is primarily outside with exposure to extreme heat and extreme cold. Employees will be working in the vicinity of site-specific vegetation and native species of reptiles and mammals. Knowledge and use of the proper maintenance attire requirements for protection from local environmental hazards should be demonstrated. Employees’ work conditions include the potential for a light to moderate exposure to hazardous chemicals, effluent water, fertilizers, and dusty air quality.
EQUIPMENT USE - Two-way radios, golf carts, tractors, skid steer, pick-up truck, and all tools and equipment related to landscape maintenance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE - Demonstrate the ability to perform all the duties associated with landscaping maintenance.
OTHER SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of safe and efficient operations of all equipment for landscape maintenance. Basic knowledge of landscape maintenance, agronomy, soil and turf grass science. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must possess a valid Nevada driver license. Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Demonstrate manual dexterity required to operate landscape maintenance equipment, motor vehicle, golf cart, and perform other required physical duties. Demonstrate visual acuity required to operate landscaping equipment, motor vehicles, golf carts, and perform any other duties. Frequently sitting, walking, standing, and riding behind, stopping and twisting. Frequent mobility required on wet and dry exterior surfaces (grass, pavement, loose gravel, desert landscape, and hilly terrain). Lifting and/or carrying of materials up to 80 pounds within short distances. Exert up to 50 pounds of pushing/pull force while performing duties. Work extended hours as necessary including weekends, early mornings, emergency call-ins and holidays. Frequent climbing to ascend hills, stairs, ladders, and stools. Occasionally work in small, confined spaces.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The ability to communicate in English/Spanish with the Landscape Manager, and co-workers, giving/receiving instructions. Constant mental alertness and attention to detail required in performing all functions. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time frame. Must exercise good judgment and common sense and possess good reasoning skills. Must be able to work under pressure. Must be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health and environmental concerns. Must be able to learn and understand the correct immediate actions and notification procedures in the event of a major issue.
