Landscape Installation Project Superintendent

The Install Project Superintendent must be thoroughly familiar with and able to perform all aspects of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction to include: production, scheduling, customer service, training, etc. The Install Project Superintendent directly oversees Crew Leaders and the installation of landscape, hardscape, and irrigation projects on a daily basis while interfacing with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. The Install Project Superintendent must coordinate with and keep the Project Manager apprised of the progress on all jobs assigned to him/her. The Install Project Superintendent also interfaces with company Sales, Estimating, Human Resources, and Accounting personnel.

The Install Project Superintendent reports directly to The Project Manager.

Skill set and educational requirements: The Install Project Superintendent must possess the following skill set and educational background:

  • Minimum of six years of experience in landscape, hardscape, and irrigation construction.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Able to supervise up to three crews simultaneously.
  • Able to effectively train field crew members.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy.
  • Have a clean criminal record.
  • Possess above average computer skills.
  • Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Proficient in both oral and written communications.
  • Proficient in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Able to represent the company in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Obtain OSHA 10-Hour Construction Training DOL Certificate within 3 months
  • Obtain NALP’s Landscape Technician Installation Course Certificate within 6 months
  • Obtain NALP’s Landscape Technician Irrigation Course Certificate within 9 months

Responsibilities:

  • Continually informs and updates the Project Manager as to job progress (or lack thereof).
  • Continually coordinates with company Crew Leaders as to job progress (or lack thereof).
  • Oversees the production of up to three jobs simultaneously.
  • Ensures that jobs are kept on schedule and on budget.
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are followed and reports any unsafe conditions to supervisors.
  • Ensures that all accidents are properly documented and reported immediately.
  • Ensures all workers’ compensation insurance claims are properly documented and reported immediately.
  • Ensures all billable work / change order work is properly documented
  • Interfaces with subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate completion of their phase of projects.
  • Interfaces with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of job materials.
  • Ensures that company Production and Quality standards are met.
  • Ensures, at job completion, all work has been professionally completed per plan/proposal.
  • Performs any/all warranty work (with assistance if necessary).
  • Ensures that all equipment is operated in a safe and proper manner.
  • Ensures that all equipment is maintained properly and preventatively maintained (PMd) daily.
  • Ensures that vendor receipts, timesheets and misc paperwork is turned in daily.
  • Ensures that job reports and current plans are reviewed with and disseminated to Crew Leaders.
  • Thoroughly understands and complies with company policies, procedures, and SOP’s.
  • Provides training to all field crews on company policies, procedures, and SOP’s.
  • Maintains positive morale among personnel and actively promotes Teamwork
  • Evaluates performance of Crew Leaders and crew members.
  • Able to read and install all plans.
  • Able to operate a transit.
  • Creates/reviews all daily job field reports for accuracy and thoroughness and forwards to main office.

  • Requires minimal supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
