Landscape Maintenance Foreman

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable, experienced, and hands-on Landscape Maintenance Foreman to lead a field crew in maintaining high-end residential landscapes. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work, leads by example, and knows how to keep a crew productive, organized, and accountable throughout the day.

The right candidate understands landscape maintenance standards, communicates well with both team members and clients, and can confidently manage jobsite execution while working alongside the crew.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside a landscape maintenance crew on daily routes and assigned properties
  • Perform and oversee routine landscape maintenance services, including mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, weeding, seasonal cleanups, and bed care
  • Monitor property conditions and identify issues related to plant health, irrigation, drainage, turf, and overall site appearance
  • Ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards
  • Train and mentor crew members on proper techniques, equipment use, and jobsite expectations
  • Communicate daily job progress, property needs, and any issues to the account manager or operations team
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized trucks, trailers, tools, and equipment
  • Interact professionally with clients when needed on-site
  • Help manage crew productivity, daily routing, and material usage
  • Ensure equipment is operated properly and routine maintenance needs are reported promptly

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of landscape maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a crew leadership or foreman role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance practices, including pruning, bed maintenance, seasonal cleanup, and turf care
  • Ability to identify common landscape issues and solve problems in the field
  • Experience operating landscape equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, and other maintenance tools
  • Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license required; clean driving record preferred
  • Experience driving a truck and trailer is a plus
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
  • Pesticide or applicator license is a plus, but not required

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shift
  • Overtime available during peak season

Additional Requirements

Ability to commute: Elmhurst, IL 60126 (Required)

Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
