Landscape Maintenance Lead

Landscape Maintenance Crew Lead Lead the Crew. Own the Quality. Build Something You're Proud Of.

This role is for someone who already knows how to do the work right — and is ready to make sure the whole crew does it right, every day, on every property.

Edge Landscaping is a high-standard landscape maintenance company serving clients who expect professionalism, reliability, and quality. We are not a mow-and-go outfit. Our clients trust us with their properties year after year — and we protect that trust.

As Crew Lead, you are the person on site responsible for making sure that trust is earned on every visit.

We are selective about who leads our crews. If you take pride in the details, set the tone for your team, and hold a high standard, you will do very well here. If you want to coast, avoid accountability, or let standards slip when no one is watching, this won't be a good fit.

Pay & Growth Starting Pay: $27 per hour Quick Progression: $29+ per hour is very attainable for Crew Leads who consistently deliver quality, develop their crew, and protect client relationships

Leadership Track: Path to Account Manager / Operations roles with higher pay and broader responsibility

Commission opportunities are available for Crew Leads who help drive company growth (upsells, service expansions, referrals, client retention).

Overtime is often required during Fall and Spring peaks, and is optional and often available May to September. This is a performance-based environment. The more value you bring, the more you earn.

Schedule Primary Season: March 1 – November 30 Full-time 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts During peak season or weather delays, a 5th day of work per week may be required.

Winter Season: December – February Reduced to part-time (typically 10–20 hours per week depending on workload). Snow removal and winter work are paid at a higher hourly rate.

This structure works well for people who want strong seasonal income with a slower winter schedule.

What You'll Do Everything a crew member does — plus ownership of the crew and the property.

  • Professional landscape maintenance, lawn care, and detail work
  • Minor Irrigation service and troubleshooting
  • Pruning and ornamental plant care
  • Operate professional-grade equipment
  • Own service quality control on every property — walk the site, inspect the work, catch issues before the client does, and fix them before you leave
  • Train and develop crew members — teach the right techniques, correct mistakes in real time, and bring new hires up to Edge standards
  • Lead the crew on site — set the pace, assign tasks, keep the job organized and efficient
  • Represent the company to the client — professional communication, clear updates, and handling questions or concerns on site
  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient job sites, trucks, and equipment
  • Communicate clearly with the office on schedule changes, property issues, and crew performance

You will work outdoors. You will stay active. You will be the person who makes sure the job meets our standard before the crew leaves the property.

Clean lines. Healthy landscapes. Clients who notice the quality. That's on you.

What We Expect

  • Consistent attendance and reliability — the crew follows your lead
  • Full effort during 10-hour shifts and the ability to keep a crew productive through the day
  • Ability to inspect work critically and correct it — including your own
  • Ability to train, coach, and give direct feedback to crew members without drama
  • Positive, team-first mindset that sets the tone for the crew
  • Professional conduct around clients — you represent Edge on every property
  • Physical capability for sustained outdoor work
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain professional-grade equipment, and to teach others to do the same

Prior landscape maintenance experience is required for this role. You should already know how to fertilize, fix a sprinkler head, set an irrigation clock, and prune a variety of ornamentals plants as well as be able to interact professionally with clients.

Growth & Opportunity Prove yourself here and you can:

  • Move into Account Manager or Operations roles
  • Earn higher hourly pay and commission
  • Take on multi-crew oversight
  • Participate in company growth as a key leader
  • Become a long-term part of a rapidly growing company

We promote from within.

The Culture We move with purpose. We hold a high standard. We communicate clearly. We take pride in our work. No drama. No corner-cutting. No coasting.

As Crew Lead, you are not just doing the work — you are protecting the standard. The crew watches what you do, what you allow, and what you walk past. Set the bar high.

Our reputation matters. The quality of your work — and your crew's work — carries your name.

If you want to lead a crew, earn well, and grow with a company that rewards performance, apply today. We're building something strong. And we're intentional about who leads the team.

Before You Apply This role is a strong fit if you can confidently say "yes" to the following:

  • I take pride in doing work the right way, even when no one is watching — and I hold my crew to the same standard.
  • I want feedback so I can improve, and I can give clear, direct feedback to others.
  • When something goes wrong on my crew, I take ownership and fix it instead of making excuses or blaming the team.
  • I am comfortable teaching, correcting, and coaching crew members in real time.
  • I am comfortable with sustained physical, manual outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, rain, and other changing weather conditions.

This is hands-on, outdoor labor with leadership responsibility. You will lift, bend, push, pull, and stay active for full 10-hour shifts — and you will be the person accountable for the crew's output and the client's property.

If those statements describe you, you'll thrive here.
