Landscape Maintenance Supervisor
Open Position
FTE Hourly nonexempt benefit eligible position
Rate of Pay27-33 per hour based on experience
40-hour work week
Location: Lee, MA
The Landscape Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of various lawn maintenance functions. The position will also be responsible for the coordination and oversight of all landscape maintenance crews.
Through effective hands on effort, supervision, scheduling, monitoring, customer relations and the development of all human resources the Landscape Maintenance Supervisor will ensure that all contractual obligations are met in a timely, quality and profitable manner and in accordance with company standards.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all landscape maintenance accounts to ensure the highest level of productivity, efficiency, quality and profitability within all areas throughout the season. Inclusive of edging, pruning, mowing, trimming, spring, fall clean up, mulch, installations and any other functions as may be required within the lawn maintenance portfolio.
2. Respond to and address all inquiries from customers regarding any and all work currently being performed at their respective property and resolve in the appropriate manner. Should assistance be required, bring all matters of concern from both a customer and crew perspective to the division president’s attention.
3. Respond to all inquiries from both current and potential new lawn maintenance customers for enhancement sales or minor work that may need to be completed. Coordinate site visit when necessary, generate required information for pricing, create estimate and upon approval submit to customer, with an effort towards securing the order. Work with division president to formulate final estimates/proposals.
4. When appropriate, solicit both existing and potential customers for the sale of landscape maintenance, installation and other various types of work, which in some cases may be performed by other disciplines within the organization. Typically, this work is “upselling” current portfolio customers.
5. Responsible for the timely and efficient installation of all projects to existing and new maintenance customers and in accordance with company procedures; to include the initial estimate, sales orders and communication with the customer throughout the installation phase, in addition to the coordination of all material and labor through the completion of the project.
6. Work in a “hands on manner” with the appropriate crews in the installation of various landscape designs, detailing and other landscaping aspects on current and future accounts.
7. Document the various aspects and nuances of each account for future use (i.e. pruning), while creating a document to memorialize the knowledge gained over the years as it pertains to each property.
8. Conduct periodic reviews on selected properties, with an effort towards up selling to the residential an commercial customer base.
9. Develop a strong positive relationship with the customer base, based upon clear and frequent communication, mutual trust and a proven ability to meet the customer need, in an effort to ensure the highest level of customer service.
10. Staff Development – Effectively communicate with staff as a whole and individually as required to address both positive aspects and any deficiencies in workmanship or conduct (document). Motivate through positive reinforcement and team building exercises at both the Forman and Crew levels.
11. Training – Support and assist in the training of production staff to ensure services are delivered in a manner consistent with contract specifications and company standards. Communicate and maintain a safe work environment at all times.
12. Oversite of all equipment utilized by the landscape maintenance crews, to include all mowers, weedwhackers, blowers, hedge trimmers, etc. to ensure for inventory control, proper use of equipment and assurance that routine maintenance transpires as scheduled.
13. Represent Company at various networking events for the purpose of building relationships that lead to new business opportunities. Participate in various industry associations to increase knowledge of marketplace, sales opportunities, the competition, selling techniques and best practices.
14. Acquire and maintain a thorough knowledge of the industry trends in order to identify and act upon opportunities for expanded service. Provide feedback regarding pricing, competition and other market observations.
15. Oversight and management of assigned snow management accounts.
16. Oversee all shop operations which is inclusive of ensuring the shop is opened and closed each day by the appropriate parties. Work with division president to ensure production schedules are being adhered to.
