Better View Landscapes is hiring a Landscape Maintenance Team Lead to join our growing Maintenance Division.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll lead the daily maintenance crew, mentor them, and deliver high-quality results on beautiful residential properties throughout the Pioneer Valley.

What You’ll Do

As our Landscape Maintenance Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for both execution and leadership. Your work directly impacts property quality and team performance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead a daily landscape maintenance team while working hands-on in the field
  • Train and mentor crew members in proper horticultural and maintenance techniques
  • Perform weeding, edging, mulching, pruning, seasonal cutbacks, and detailed bed care
  • Maintain shrubs, perennials, ornamental trees, and landscape beds to company standards
  • Identify weeds, pests, and plant health concerns
  • Conduct onsite quality checks
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors and management
  • Document work, notes, and photos using the company CRM system
  • Ensure equipment is used safely and properly maintained
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites

This is not a desk job. You will lead from the front.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and is ready to lead consistently, not occasionally.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional landscape maintenance or horticulture experience
  • Prior experience working with and leading a team
  • Strong plant identification skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for reporting
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal horticulture training
  • Massachusetts Pesticide License (or willingness to obtain)
  • Experience mentoring or developing team members
  • Strong organizational and quality-control mindset

Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start time is typically around 7:00 a.m.
  • Seasonal overtime and occasional Saturdays. Winter hours may vary and may include snow operations or cross-division support
