Landscape Maintenance Worker

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Landscape Maintenance Worker to join our dynamic groundskeeping team. This role involves maintaining the aesthetic appeal and health of outdoor landscapes, including lawns, gardens, trees, and hardscape features. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, technical knowledge of landscape and horticultural practices, and the ability to operate various tools and machinery. Duties

• Perform lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aerating to ensure healthy turf growth.
• Conduct landscape maintenance activities including planting, pruning, trimming, and mulching to promote plant health.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators for landscape installation and repair projects.
• Maintain hardscape features by cleaning, repairing, or installing pathways, patios, and retaining walls.
• Provide tree care services including trimming, pruning, and removal while adhering to safety standards.
• Assist with irrigation system installation, inspection, and repairs to ensure efficient water management.
• Support snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible.
• Perform general maintenance tasks on equipment and tools to ensure optimal operation.
• Collaborate with team members on landscaping projects that enhance outdoor spaces.
• Follow safety protocols and environmental guidelines in all maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in landscape maintenance or related construction fields.
• Mechanical knowledge related to operating lawn mowers, excavators, and other landscaping machinery.
• Familiarity with horticulture principles, gardening techniques, and plant care.
• Ability to use hand tools such as shovels, pruners, rakes, and power tools effectively.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems, snow plowing procedures, and hardscape installation.
• Strong understanding of landscape maintenance practices including mowing, tree trimming, and lawn care.
• Excellent physical stamina for outdoor work in various weather conditions.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients.
• Valid driver’s license preferred; certification in tree care or horticulture is a plus.
