Position Summary
The Nursery Coordinator supports daily operations of the nursery. This role is essential in helping manage inventory, coordinate crews, and maintain efficient workflows in a high-end landscape environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working outdoors with plant material and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Nursery Support & Inventory
- Assist in organizing and maintaining nursery layout by species (e.g., aspens, maples, crabapples, conifers)
- Tag and track trees using digital inventory systems
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing tree deliveries, verifying size and quality upon arrival
- Support heeling-in process and irrigation setup for nursery stock
- Help implement nursery map system and signage for visual organization
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering and restocking processes
- Perform daily nursery health, irrigation, and inventory inspections
Field & Crew Coordination
- Support project manager in preparing trees and materials for installations
- Help assemble crews for key operations such as digging, planting, and irrigation
- Assist in staging equipment and tools prior to job site mobilization
- Act as a secondary lead on smaller install days or when manager is unavailable
- Maintain tool and equipment organization at both nursery and job sites
Administrative & Communication
- Document and report inconsistencies in plant sizes or supplier issues
- Track crew hours and assist with scheduling updates
- Communicate clearly with internal teams, vendors, and site foremen
- Help prepare photos, tags, and descriptions for sales materials
- Participate in team meetings and assist with seasonal planning
- Assist clients with nursery walks and tree selections
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in landscaping, nursery operations, or tree installation preferred
- Ability to think on the fly, and adjust to ever changing situations
- Basic knowledge of plant material and tree species common to the Rocky Mountain region
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various outdoor conditions
- Familiarity with equipment such as skid steers, trailers and trailering heavy loads, excavators, water pumps, and irrigation systems
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Tech-savvy — comfortable using inventory apps, tagging tools, or spreadsheets
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
This position pays between $65,000-$85,000 + benefits + PTO
