Landscape Site Work Operator – Grading, Excavation, and Grounds Preparation

Job Summary
The Landscape Site Work Operator is responsible for performing site preparation and landscape construction tasks, including grading, excavation, and grounds preparation, using a variety of heavy and light equipment. This role supports landscape installation projects by ensuring job sites are properly prepared, safe, and completed to specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate site work and landscaping equipment such as skid steers, excavators, loaders, compactors, trenchers, and grading equipment
• Perform grading, leveling, and excavation to meet project plans and elevations
• Prepare sites for landscaping, hardscaping, drainage, irrigation, and turf installation
• Load, transport, and distribute soil, gravel, stone, and other materials
• Install base materials for walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other landscape features
• Read and follow site plans, layouts, and grade stakes
• Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times
• Follow all safety regulations and company procedures
• Work collaboratively with crew members, supervisors, and project managers

Qualifications

• Previous experience in landscape site work, excavation, or grading
• Proficiency operating landscape and construction equipment
• Basic knowledge of site layout, elevation, and drainage principles
• Ability to follow instructions and work from drawings or verbal direction
• Strong attention to safety and detail
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL a plus, if applicable)
• Experience with hardscape preparation and installation
• Knowledge of irrigation, drainage systems,
• OSHA or equipment operation certifications

Pay: $33.00 - $35.00 per hour
