Landscape Supervisor

POSITION: Landscape Supervisor
DIVISION: Commercial (COM)
REPORTS TO: Construction Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Landscape Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing both the daily operations and crew management of our construction projects. This position ensures that all jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for developing production schedules, managing resources, and maintaining smooth workflows while also leading, training, and supporting Foremen and crew members. By balancing hands-on site supervision with administrative responsibilities, you will drive efficiently, enforce company standards, and foster a safe, productive, and accountable work environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Daily Operations
  • Oversee day-to-day landscape construction production, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits and quality control inspections to monitor service delivery and promptly address any issues.
  • Develop and implement production schedules, resource allocation strategies, and workflow systems to improve productivity.
  • Procure all necessary materials in coordination w/ PM and Procurement Manager to complete assigned jobs.
  • Successfully complete contracted and on-going tasks with quality, efficiency, safety, and accountability.
  • Actively respond to any emergencies within the construction department, regardless of date or time.
  • Report equipment problems, unsafe conditions, and accidents to the Operations Construction Manager and the Safety department in a timely manner.
  • Enforce commercial construction SOPs and identify areas of improvement.
  • Communicate daily with Landscape Construction Manager for all aspects related to assigned job sites.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards (e.g., OSHA), and industry best practices.
  • Travel when necessary

Crew Management and Mentorship
  • Monitor daily crew performance, including route assignments, time sheet accuracy, and attendance tracking.
  • Onboard and train Commercial Construction Foreman and Crew Members on company standards, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular Foreman and crew performance reviews, set measurable goals, and provide mentorship and coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Provide safety training and evaluations to construction Foreman and Crew Members.
  • Support crew members with administrative needs, such as PTO requests, accessing employee portals (e.g., HCM), and understanding incentive and performance programs.
  • Foster a positive, respectful team environment focused on accountability, development, and service excellence.

ABOUT YOU
Qualifications
  • 2-3 years of experience in landscape construction, field operations, or crew leadership in a production environment.
  • Strong understanding of management role.
  • Strong understanding of landscape construction practices.

Special Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Aspire) and related software.

In addition, the employee must be able to:
  • Walk extended distances across uneven, sloped, or rough terrain
  • Perform physically demanding landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, mulching, weeding, lifting, digging with a shovel, and carrying materials.
  • Operate heavy machinery like bobcats, excavators, loaders, and other equipment; including hand held chop saws, chain saws, blowers and misc. hand tools.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and occasionally more with assistance
  • Climb ladders or similar structures and work at varying heights as needed
  • Work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, humidity, and direct sunlight
  • Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, coordination, and sustained physical effort
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The work environment includes exposure to moderate to high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor environmental conditions.
