Landscape & Tree Lead Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Landscape & Tree Lead Driver to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating landscaping and tree care equipment while leading a team to deliver exceptional outdoor maintenance services. Your expertise will ensure that landscapes are beautifully maintained, trees are properly cared for, and all projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine skilled driving with leadership in landscape and horticultural tasks, contributing to the beautification and health of outdoor environments. This is a 1099 Independent Contractor position under a high-earning P4P model.

Duties

  • Safely operate trucks, trailers, and specialized landscaping equipment to transport materials, tools, and team members to job sites
  • Lead a team of landscape and tree care technicians, assigning tasks and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Directing a team to ensure all “bid work” meets our quality standards the first time.
  • Perform landscape maintenance activities including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, clean-ups and lawn care to enhance outdoor aesthetics
  • Execute tree care procedures such as trimming, pruning, planting, and health assessments with precision and care
  • Assist with construction projects related to landscaping or site improvements, ensuring quality standards are met
  • Maintain irrigation systems, troubleshoot issues, and perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal water distribution
  • Conduct regular inspections of work sites for safety compliance, quality assurance, and project progress updates
  • Equipment Care: Responsible for the safe operation of trucks, trailers, chainsaws, and heavy landscape machinery.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in landscape maintenance, landscaping, lawn care, or horticulture with a focus on quality results
  • Supervising or leadership experience managing teams in outdoor or construction environments
  • Knowledge of tree care practices including pruning, planting, and health assessment techniques
  • Familiarity with irrigation systems installation and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of gardening principles and general horticulture practices
  • Ability to operate trucks, trailers, and landscaping machinery safely and efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead a team effectively while ensuring safety standards are upheld

Compensation & Payouts

​Pay for Performance (P4P): You earn a percentage of the bid for every job completed.

​Bi-Weekly Payouts: Pay contractors every two weeks via Zelle/Cash App/Check.

​Higher Earning Potential: Skilled tree trimmers and efficient drivers significantly out-earn standard hourly rates in this model.

Safety & Security (Strict Requirements)

​Screening: Must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug test.

​Driving: Must have a clean MVR and expert-level experience backing trailers.

​Liability: Contractor must provide a COI or sign an Equipment Liability Waiver. Per our Code of Conduct, you are financially liable for damage caused by negligence (e.g., jackknifing or equipment misuse).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
