Landscape/Hardscape Equipment Operator

Job Description

John’s Tree Service & Landscaping, Inc. is looking for an experienced and motivated Landscape / Hardscape Equipment Operator to join our growing team.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating excavators and other equipment, understands grading and drainage, and has experience with hardscape installation and site work. This is a hands-on position working on residential and commercial projects throughout the Broome County area.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, skid steers, loaders, and other equipment safely and efficiently
• Grade and level dirt for landscaping, drainage, and site preparation
• Install drainage systems, swales, and ditches
• Assist with excavation and land clearing projects
• Install retaining walls, paver patios, walkways, and other hardscape features
• Work with stone, gravel, topsoil, and other landscape materials
• Read grades and ensure proper drainage/slope
• Perform daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Work alongside crew members to complete projects efficiently and professionally

Qualifications

• Experience operating excavators and skid steers required
• Knowledge of grading, leveling, and drainage installation
• Hardscape experience (retaining walls, pavers, stone work, etc.)
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license required
• CDL is a plus
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical labor
• Reliable, motivated, and team-oriented
