Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, and trimming trees and shrubs to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal.
• Operate a variety of hand tools and power tools such as trimmers, blowers, lawn mowers, and hedge cutters efficiently and safely.
• Use specialized equipment like excavators for larger projects involving hardscape installation or land grading.
• Maintain lawns and gardens through watering, fertilizing, aerating, and pest control to promote lush growth.
• Install and repair irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of landscaped areas.
• Construct hardscape features such as patios, walkways, retaining walls, and garden beds with precision.
• Conduct seasonal tasks including snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe.
• Perform tree care activities including trimming, pruning, planting, and removal to support healthy growth and safety.
• Assist with landscaping design ideas and execute projects that enhance the visual appeal of outdoor spaces.

Skills

• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate various landscaping machinery and tools safely.
• Extensive experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening, and horticulture practices.
• Proficiency with hand tools (shovels, rakes) and power tools (chainsaws, trimmers) essential for daily tasks.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems installation and troubleshooting for efficient water management.
• Ability to perform tree care activities such as trimming, pruning, planting, or removal with precision.
• Familiarity with construction techniques related to hardscape features like patios or retaining walls.
• Experience in snow plowing operations during winter seasons for safety maintenance.
• Good understanding of landscaping principles including plant selection, soil preparation, and landscape design concepts.
• Physical stamina to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
