The Landscaper is responsible for maintaining the outdoor grounds of the Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) to ensure a safe, clean, and visually appealing environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This role supports resident well-being by creating a peaceful and well-kept outdoor setting.
- Maintain lawns, gardens, trees, and shrubs through mowing, trimming, pruning, and watering
- Plant flowers, grass, trees, and bushes to enhance the facility’s appearance
- Remove weeds, debris, leaves, and litter from all outdoor areas
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) safely
- Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting walkways, and leaf collection
- Monitor irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules
- Identify and report safety hazards (uneven walkways, fallen branches, etc.)
- Assist with minor outdoor repairs (fencing, signage, benches, etc.)
- Ensure all outdoor areas are safe and accessible for residents, including those with mobility challenges
- Follow facility policies, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred
- Ability to operate landscaping tools and equipment
- Basic knowledge of plant care and lawn maintenance
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
