Job Title: Lawn Care Worker I & II

Location: Muncie, IN- our office location

Terms: Seasonal usually March-December (December-February on call for snow), part/full time

Salary/Rate: Depends on experience. $13-22/hr. Evaluation after 30 days.

Requirements: Flexibility in availability M-F and sometimes Saturdays. No Sundays

Smith Family Services is a small rapidly growing residential/commercial lawn care company. Family owned and operated. Customers are the best part of our business, without them, we have no business.

About the role: Reports to owners. Runs a crew. Lawn care workers are essential to completing the daily tasks/projects that are scheduled each day.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Use mowers, weed eaters, and common hand tools to trim grass, edge lawn areas, and maintain nearby plants and foliage
• Use a lawn mower, sod cutters, and other tools to trim grass and edge lawn areas
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions, maintaining energy and pace along with the team
• Operate leaf blowers and gather grass and hedge trimmings for removal
• Use pruners and trimmers to remove shrub and tree overgrowth
• Load and unload lawn care tools into/from work trucks
• Clear snow and ice from sidewalks, paths, and driveways in winter
• Misc tasks as needed

Lawncare Worker II

• All the above plus below
• Drive a truck to various client locations/suppliers and ensure proper storage of equipment during transport
• Pull various sizes of trailers
• Log billable hours accurately using a time tracking app
• Add job details, review daily tasks, and communicate with customers using our lawn care business app

Lawn Care Worker Requirements

Qualifications:

• A valid driver's license and clean driving record, and reliable transportation
• Able to repeatedly lift upwards of 50 pounds and bend, lift, and stand for extended periods
• Able to sit, stand, kneel, and lift
• Able to work in all weather conditions
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Self-starter who can manage time effectively
• Willing to learn and to follow instructions
• Can work independently and as part of a team environment
• Familiarity with common landscaping equipment
• Reliable and self-motivated

Lawncare Worker II

• All the above plus listed below
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience or work in lawn maintenance (preferred)
• Experience using scheduling apps or routing apps preferred (training can be provided)
