Landscaping Technician

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Attend meetings as required and lead department.

2. Follows an effective program of grounds keeping and grass cutting for assigned outdoor area and school properties according to an assigned schedule.

3. Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.

4. Demonstrates skill, safety, and knowledge when operating equipment and using materials to care for grounds, plants, outdoor areas, and assigned spaces.

5. Uses proper safety equipment as appropriate when performing grounds keeping and maintenance duties.

6. Plants and prunes shrubs, trees, and flowers to established schedules.

7. Removes debris from lawn and grounds prior to mowing assigned areas. Removes debris from stairs and walks, rakes around shrubbery and flower areas, and mows lawns and fields.

8. Operates power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with grounds maintenance, hauling, and collecting debris, and landscaping.

9. Sprays for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.

10. Stores, uses, and disposes of chemicals, fertilizers, trash, debris, cleaners, and products efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established procedures, and instructions.

11. Assists in the maintenance and repair of chainsaws and other small equipment. Performs daily preventive maintenance of equipment and reports needed repairs and replacements to Landscape Lead.

12. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters.

13. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.

14. Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative, or supervisory personnel.

15. Maintains accurate and timely records of time, labor, and materials as assigned.

16. Reports damage to structures and equipment that requires repairs to the proper department.

17. Establishes and maintains working relationships with Supervisors, Lean positions, and other employees.

18. Completes work assignments without close supervision. Completes all projects as to neatness conformance with standards of related trade.

19. May be assigned other duties by the Zone Manager, the Landscape Lead or his/her designee.

20. Adhere to the set procedures for attendance and timekeeping

21. Adhere to the provisions outlined in the Employee’s Handbook, Disciplinary Code and Rules and Regulations

22. Ensure the correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment at all times

23. To encourage team building and drive departmental team spirit

24. Apply pest and disease control programmes in horticultural situations.

25. Co-ordinate work orders with ground crew.

26. Deploy workforce and supervise landscape maintenance works.

27. Ensure timely completion of work schedules.

28. Ensure workplace health and safety regulations are implemented and complied with.

29. Handle client enquiries.

30. Monitor plant health, soil, water and other environmental conditions.

31. Optimise growing conditions using appropriate nutrient fertilisers and soil mix.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,200.00 - AED1,300.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Abu Dhabi: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Required)

Experience:

• Landscaping: 2 years (Required)
