What this role is
You take incoming artwork—good or bad—and turn it into clean, production-ready files that print correctly the first time.
This is a production-first role. Speed and accuracy matter more than “creative.” If your background is mostly web/social design, this isn’t a fit.
What you’ll do
- Preflight and correct customer files (scale, bleed, resolution, color)
- Build layouts for large format graphics (banners, tent panels, walls)
- Run HP Latex workflows (RIP, queue, nesting, material efficiency)
- Catch issues before they hit the printer (this is the job)
- Light layout work when needed using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and occasionally Adobe InDesign
What good looks like
- You’ve worked in a sign shop or large format environment
- You understand bleed, DPI, scaling, tiling, and color profiles without guessing
- You know when to use vector vs raster—and why it matters at 40 feet wide
- You move fast without creating rework
Non-negotiables
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
- Working proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
- Real prepress experience (not just design)
- Experience with large format printing (HP Latex or similar)
Nice to have
- Event graphics / signage experience
- Familiarity with vinyl, mesh, blockout materials
- Basic printer maintenance knowledge
What you won’t be doing
- Sitting in meetings all day
- Designing social media graphics
- Guessing and hoping files print correctly
Compensation & growth
- $25–$28/hr depending on experience
- Full-time, consistent workload
- Opportunity to take ownership of print workflows as we grow
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Benefits:
- 401(k)
- Dental insurance
- Health insurance
- Life insurance
