Large Format Printing Specialist / Sign Shop Production Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Large Format Printing Specialist / Sign Shop Production Operator to join our vibrant manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality large format prints and signage, ensuring precision and efficiency throughout the production process. Your expertise will help bring creative visions to life, supporting various projects from conceptual design to final installation. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with flatbed printers, vinyl cutting, CNC routing, and sign finishing and installation, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent production standards.

Duties

• Read and interpret job tickets and specifications to accurately produce signage and displays.
• Operate flatbed and inkjet large-format printers, CNC router, and vinyl cutters.
• Manage materials handling, including loading media rolls, cutting materials with hand tools or automated cutters, and organizing finished products for delivery or installation.
• Prepare substrates for application including cutting, laminating, painting, and cleaning.
• Prepare digital files for printing by checking resolution, color profiles, and file integrity using CAD and graphic design software.
• Perform vinyl weeding on computer-cut graphics using proper techniques based on size and complexity.
• Conduct quality assurance checks before and after production by reviewing work orders and inspecting finished pieces.
• Set up and calibrate printing equipment, including adjusting settings for different materials such as vinyl, fabric, or rigid substrates.
• Complete finishing processes such as laminating, encapsulating, and mounting printed materials.
• Operate laminating equipment and maintain proper machine settings.
• Assist with sign installation at customer locations when required.
• Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to ensure specifications are met.
• Perform routine maintenance on printing and fabrication machinery to maintain peak performance and reduce downtime.

Production Workflow

• Maintain consistent production output and meet established hourly production goals.
• Maintain inventory levels of media, laminates, and substrates.
• Accurately interpret work orders and production instructions.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating large format printers and CNC machines
• 2+ years experience in sign production or large format printing preferred
• Experience operating: Large format printers, Vinyl cutters, Laminators,CNC routers
• Strong understanding of signage materials, media, and substrates
• Ability to read and interpret production work orders
• Strong attention to detail and quality control
• Ability to lift materials and assist with installations when required
• Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with factory safety standards, warehouse operations, packaging processes, and the use of hand tools.
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations; attention to detail is essential for quality assurance.
• Familiarity with manufacturing safety protocols and quality control procedures within a manufacturing facility environment.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
