Laser Engraver / Typography / Production Artist

Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual who understands the basics of graphic design and laser engraving. The ideal candidate will have a passion for typography, graphic editing and product production. This position requires that you possess a strong skill set in basic typography skills, and requires proficiency with Adobe CS or CorelSuite software.

In addition to working on Windows based computers, this position also involves hands on production of laser engraved products, and working with items that may involve some degree of assembly. Training will be provided. Dexterity and attention to detail is essential.

Sign-on bonus for qualified candidates! This is a posting for a full time position. You will start on a part time flex schedule and transition to full time after your probationary period.

Advanced experience with CorelDraw as well as laser engraving will place you at the top of the list for potential opportunities and greater compensation.

**Note: Proficiency in AdobeCS and/or CorelDraw CorelPhoto is required, please do not engage with this post unless your are skilled in this area. In order to interview for this position you may be required to demonstrate basic skills on a Zoom call. This is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity.** If you are unable or unwilling to interview via Zoom, this position may not be ideal for you. The interview will simply require you to reproduce 2-3 simple text and logo designs, each being a 5-minute tasks.

Primary Responsibilities
- Help customers design the ideal typesetting design for their specific needs
- Create visually appealing graphics for various items and engraving mediums
- Design logos and use typesetting skills
- Utilize graphic design knowledge to enhance existing designs
- Work hands on with the other graphic designers

Additional Responsibilities
- Take a leadership role to ensure production tasks are completed on time
- Collaborate with all staff to manage day to day operations
- Assist the front of store sales team with customer order intake

Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator / CorelDraw
- Ability to type and edit various documents with ease
- Efficient in working with Windows/MSOffice apps, especially using keyboard shortcuts
- Strong understanding of typography and layout design principles
- Awareness for strong attention to detail

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour
