Lathe Machinist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist to operate conventional and/or CNC lathe machines for the accurate machining of metal components. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing precision parts according to engineering drawings and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and set up conventional and/or CNC lathe machines
• Interpret mechanical drawings, sketches, and specifications
• Perform turning, facing, boring, threading, and drilling operations
• Measure and inspect finished components using precision instruments
• Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish as per requirements
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
• Follow safety procedures and workshop regulations

Requirements:

• ITI / Diploma in Machinist, Mechanical, or equivalent qualification
• Minimum [X] years of experience as a Lathe Machinist
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and materials
• Experience with measuring tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers
• Strong attention to detail and quality

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in heavy engineering or maintenance workshops
• Knowledge of CNC lathe programming (advantage)
• Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines
