Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team on the second shift. In this role, you will operate CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and programming will be essential in ensuring efficient production processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced manufacturing equipment, including Nakamura Tome lathes, and contribute to high-quality product output in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC lathes.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and calibration devices according to specifications.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical drawings to ensure accurate machining.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols diligently while handling hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying opportunities for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Assist in assembly processes when required, ensuring parts meet quality standards before final inspection.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a machinist working with CNC lathe and milling machines, preferably with Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes including plastics injection molding and welding.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine settings.
- Knowledge of tooling setup, hand tools, power tools, and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work independently on second shift while maintaining high attention to detail.

Pay: $28.00 - $34.00 per hour
