Launch Manager

Scope of Position:

Support the plant and customer through effective management of new programs, plant projects and implementation of improvement and cost reduction suggestions. Develop assembly, process, fixturing and equipment to ensure high quality and cost effective production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Facilitate the launch of new projects into the plant by leading the Launch Glidepath Process.

· Act as the key bridge between the SDT team and the Plant team for the launch of new products.

· Support plant safety programs by ensuring that engineering support is involved with the implementation into the manufacturing process.

· Support VA/VE activities by ensuring that Engineering is represented at all trials, approvals and implementation dates are achieved.

· Ability to identify root cause of a problem, develop corrective action and lead team to resolution.

· Develop annual kaizen activity plan and execute

· Facilitate and track material cost reduction activities

· Manage PLUS plant related process on all new programs by ensuring that all exit reviews are completed at scheduled

· Achieve profit plan for fiscal year

· Ensure flawless launch and 0 – 0 – 100 – 100 – 30 metrics are achieved,

(0* - safety issues, 0* - PPM, 100% on time delivery, meet 100% of financial goals during first 30 days of production).

· Coordinate and lead the power build events in conjunction with SDT and operations team.

· Establish start up budget for assigned launch projects in conjunction with plant controllers. Manage approved start up budget during fiscal year to ensure that project is target or better per the timing schedule.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

B.S. Degree in Engineering or a related field. Three to five years automotive experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work well in a multi-location team environment.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.

Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
