What You’ll Be Doing:
Join our dynamic and fast-paced environment at the intersection of real estate and construction. The Law Clerk will assist the in-house counsel team with various real estate, land use, and corporate matters. There will be an emphasis on legal research and transactional legal work. The primary goal for a legal intern is to assist and provide support with researching, preparing, and reviewing various legal documents.
Major Objectives:
  • Legal Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth research on real estate laws, construction regulations, and zoning ordinances. Uncover insights that help us stay ahead of the game.
  • Contract Drafting & Review: Assist with the review of legal documents during due diligence which includes title, survey, zoning, and entitlements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that our projects adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations. Help us navigate the red tape so we can focus on making our vision a reality.
  • Document Management: Organize and maintain legal documents, project files, and correspondence with the efficiency of a top-notch archivist.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with our project managers, architects, and legal team. Be the linchpin that connects legal strategy with project execution.
  • Problem Solving: Tackle legal challenges with creativity and tenacity. Be prepared to find solutions that keep our projects on track and compliant.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist with preparing and reviewing contracts, closing statements, and other legal documents.
  • Attend relevant internal and external meetings regarding development, construction, and property management.
  • Support counsel team members.
  • Research relevant laws concerning issues of importance to the Company and provide findings to General Counsel.
  • Gain an understanding of working on an in-house counsel team.

Educational Background:
  • Currently enrolled in law school (this is a requirement), ideally just finished their first full year of law school
  • Skills and experience with marketing, public speaking, and presentations are a plus.
