Urgent hiring for Law Officer – FMCG / Food Industry
Key Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Compliance & Food Laws
- Ensure 100% compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Act, 2006 and its subsequent amendments.
- Ensure adherence to the Legal Metrology Act (Packaged Commodities Rules) concerning labeling, weights, and measures.
- Obtain, renew, and manage statutory licenses, registrations, permits, and approvals for manufacturing plants, storage facilities, and new product launches.
- Monitor evolving local, state, and national food safety regulations and proactively advise business teams on regulatory impact.
- Review and vet product labels, packaging artwork, and marketing advertisements for compliance with Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) guidelines and the Consumer Protection Act.
2. Contract Management & Commercial Law
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize commercial agreements including:
- Vendor & procurement contracts
- Contract manufacturing agreements
- Supply chain & logistics agreements
- Distribution & franchising agreements
- Draft and vet Sales & Marketing agreements, including:
- Sales promotion schemes
- Influencer marketing agreements
- Advertising and brand endorsement contracts
- Provide legal advisory support on corporate and commercial laws to internal stakeholders.
3. Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Manage end-to-end litigation including:
- Consumer complaints
- Product liability matters
- Food safety regulatory cases
- Distributor and competitor disputes
- Coordinate with external counsel for appearances before District Courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court.
- Draft legal notices, replies, affidavits, and other pleadings.
- Represent the company before statutory authorities and regulatory bodies.
4. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)
- Manage trademark registrations for new brands and logos.
- Handle copyright protection for packaging designs and creative assets.
- Support patent filings where applicable.
- Take legal action against counterfeit products and manage IP infringement matters.
5. Internal Advisory & Risk Management
- Advice senior management on legal risks related to business initiatives, operational decisions, and product launches.
- Develop and implement internal policies on food safety, labor law compliance, and regulatory adherence.
- Conduct legal audits at manufacturing units and branch offices.
- Conduct internal compliance training sessions for cross-functional teams.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized university.
- CS qualification or LLM is an added advantage.
Experience
- 5–10 years of in-house legal experience in FMCG, food processing, or manufacturing sector.
Knowledge
- Strong working knowledge of:

- Labor & Employment laws
