We are seeking a licensed, experienced applicator who wants steady, full-time employment — including snow and ice management during the winter season.
Position Overview
The Lawn Applicator Foreman is responsible for leading daily operations within the lawn application department while performing fertilizer, weed control, and specialty turf treatments for residential and commercial customers.
This leadership role oversees route planning, scheduling, quality control, equipment management, and team performance to ensure services are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced applicator who enjoys mentoring others, solving problems, and taking ownership of departmental success.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the daily operations of the lawn application department.
- Manage and optimize technician route schedules for maximum efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Apply fertilizer, herbicide, insecticide, and specialty turf treatments accurately and safely.
- Train, mentor, and support applicator team members.
- Ensure quality workmanship and consistent service across all routes.
- Calibrate, inspect, and maintain ride-on and truck-mounted application equipment.
- Diagnose turf issues including weeds, disease, insects, and nutrient deficiencies.
- Recommend additional services and treatment plans to customers.
- Maintain accurate digital service records and application documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pesticide regulations and company safety policies.
- Coordinate with office staff and management regarding scheduling, customer concerns, and production goals.
- Maintain a clean vehicle, organized equipment, and professional appearance.
Winter Season (Snow Operations)
- Assist with commercial snow removal and de-icing operations.
- Participate in on-call snow events, including nights and weekends.
- Operate and maintain snow equipment safely and efficiently.
- Help ensure contracted properties are serviced according to company standards.
Qualifications
- Active State Pesticide Applicator License (3OT & Core).
- Previous lawn care and turf application experience required.
- Prior leadership, crew lead, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of turfgrass management and seasonal treatment programs.
- Proven ability to organize and manage daily route schedules.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends during peak season, and snow events as needed.
