Lawn Applicator Technician

About Us

Our mission is to transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, lasting environments that inspire connection , elevate everyday living, and bring dreams to life.

We are seeking a licensed, experienced applicator who wants steady, full-time employment — including snow and ice management during the winter season.

Position Overview

The Lawn Applicator Technician is responsible for applying fertilizer, weed control, and specialty turf treatments to residential and commercial properties. This role combines technical skill, attention to detail, and customer interaction to deliver consistent, high-quality results.

We are seeking individuals with prior lawn care or turf application experience; however, we are willing to train motivated candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic, professionalism, and a willingness to learn. Experience is valued — attitude and reliability are essential.

This position requires someone who can work independently, follow safety regulations, operate application equipment accurately, and represent the company professionally in the field.

Successful candidates will take ownership of their route, maintain equipment properly, communicate effectively with customers, and contribute to customer retention and growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Apply fertilizer, herbicide, and specialty treatments accurately and efficiently
  • Calibrate and maintain ride-on and truck-mounted application equipment
  • Diagnose turf issues (weeds, disease, insects, nutrient deficiencies)
  • Make proactive treatment and upsell recommendations
  • Maintain detailed digital service records
  • Ensure full compliance with state and federal pesticide regulations
  • Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and professional appearance
  • Build strong customer relationships and high retention rates

Winter Season (Snow Operations)

  • Perform commercial snow removal and de-icing services
  • Participate in on-call snow events
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles
  • Ensure properties are safe and serviced according to contract standards

Qualifications

  • Active State Pesticide Applicator License (3OT & Core) or ability to obtain license within the first 90 days
  • Experience Preferred, willing to train motivated candidates
  • Strong knowledge of turfgrass species and seasonal treatment timing
  • Ability to work independently and manage a route
  • Drivers License with clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varying weather conditions
  • Willingness to work weekends during peak season
  • Willingness to work snow events including nights and weekends

Compensation & Benefits

  • $20 - $26 Hourly pay based on licensing and experience
  • Overtime opportunities during peak season
  • Snow event hourly premiums
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Licensing renewal paid by company
  • Advancement opportunities into Route Manager, Snow Supervisor, or Division Lead
  • Company vehicle during work hours

High performers are compensated like professionals — not seasonal labor.

What Sets This Role Apart

  • Dedicated, manageable turf routes
  • Professional equipment and organized systems
  • Clear advancement path
  • Leadership that understands the industry
  • Strong team culture and accountability

If you're a licensed applicator who wants stability, strong compensation, and professional growth — while staying busy year-round — we want to talk.
