Lawn Care-Seasonal

This is a great summer opportunity for someone who likes to be outside performing lawn and landscaping services. This is a full-time seasonal position with several positions available within Parks and Public Works.

This position will be responsible for mowing, weeding, maintaining city flower beds and park areas and small maintenance repairs.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of plants and flowers preferred.
• Some knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance; Some knowledge of equipment and supplies used to do minor repairs; Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions. Experience with large mowers and weed eaters.
• Ability to work independently and to complete daily activities according to work schedule; Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
• Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions; Ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public.
• Must be at least 18 years of age with valid drivers license.
• Any combination of relevant education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the work.

Other duties will be required as assigned. Applicant must be able to pass a drug test.

Work hours are generally Monday through Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm.
