Lawsuit Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Lawsuit Coordinator LOCATION: Dallas Office

Overview (Primary Purpose)

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate real property and business personal property lawsuit filings as needed to meet the Management team's lawsuit filing objectives. This position is part of the Litigation Lawsuit Production Department and reports directly to the Lawsuit Production Manager.

The Lawsuit Coordinator must have excellent time management skills, organization, written and verbalcommunication skills, comprehension skills, personal computer skills, temperament, dependability, and be able tosucceed in a deadline-driven environment while professionally conducting themselves.

Describe the essential functions of the job:

1. Review property tax accounts targeted for title orders before going out to the abstractor(s);

2. Coding information into our database on property tax accounts, title orders, and lawsuits as needed for processing;

3. Create information packets for property tax accounts targeted for title orders;

4. Verify that the property tax accounts subject to the title work returned are still viable candidates for a lawsuit based on a predetermined set of parameters and thresholds by reviewing property records, tax rolls, and appraisal records;

5. Review title work returned from abstractors for clerical errors, coding information, and potential issues that will require analysis from the attorney(s);

6. Review and research chains of title and legal descriptions on the title work returned from abstractors to determine if the proper parties are included;

7. Respond to research needs and records requests from the attorney(s) created during the lawsuit review process

8. Communicating with Lawsuit Production Clerks to respond to attorney(s) requests created during the lawsuit review process;

9. Perform skip-tracing on potential defendants discovered during the review of the chains of title;

10. Process virtual files containing title work using our network directories and database;

11. Assist the Lawsuit Production Manager with reporting and auditing Lawsuit Production title orders, lawsuits built, and lawsuits filed;

12. Other duties and tasks assigned by Management.

Core Role Responsibilities of the job:

1. Workflow coordination and task prioritization for other team members

2. Distributing weekly files to Production Clerks for buildup for weekly lawsuit review 3. Accurate instructions to Production Clerks on the weekly buildup process

4. Organize and audit lawsuit files built by Production Clerks

5. Preparation, review, and timely filing of Abstractor Affidavits for Costs

6. Clear communication of filing requirements to team members

7. Timely response to Production Clerks' questions

8. Preparation of weekly test register reports on lawsuits filed

9. Other duties as assigned

Describe the physical conditions of the work environment:

The position requires sitting at a computer desk and reviewing information on computer monitors for hours at a time. This position may require standing and/or bending to access paper files and may require copying and filing paper documents.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Necessary to Succeed

1. : Excellent computer proficiency is necessary using Oracle-based systems (Oracle,

ACT, WebCenter Content), Microsoft Windows operating systems, the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook), .pdf file editing software, web-based search engines, and research tools.

2. : The ability to complete tasks within specific deadlines, create deadlines as necessary
to complete tasks, and maximize productivity.

3. : The ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner, manage files and documents
using our network directories properly.

4. : Strong communication skills are required. This position must
have the ability to communicate with peer employees, attorneys, and court personnel as necessary in a professional manner, whether it be in person, by phone, or by email.

5. : The ability to use our coding definitions and apply them for the preparation of lawsuits

6. : This position must be able to supply information as specifically as requested and have a great eye for the presence of inaccurate information in order to correct it

7. : This position must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times in carrying out job functions and responsibilities as the workload demands change

8. The ability to respond to needs and emergencies in a timely and professional manner

Pay: $50,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
