Associate Attorney – Criminal Defense

CRIMINAL DEFENSE LAW FIRM: Our law office is a small but rapidly growing criminal defense firm based in South Jersey. Our practice is high-volume and fast-paced, representing clients in both Municipal and Superior Court on matters ranging from traffic and DUI/DWI offenses to complex indictable criminal cases, domestic violence restraining orders, and appellate work.

We are seeking a motivated, dedicated Associate Attorney to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about criminal defense, possesses strong writing skills, is eager to learn, and is committed to providing zealous, compassionate, and client-centered advocacy.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze discovery materials, police reports and body-worn camera footage
• Draft legal briefs, motions, sentencing memoranda and other persuasive court filings
• Represent clients in Municipal and Superior Court proceedings
• Conduct client meetings and maintaining regular communication
• Assist in trial preparation and strategy for complex cases
• Perform in-depth legal research and case analysis

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice in New Jersey
• 0–3 years of legal experience (criminal defense experience preferred but not required)
• Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment
• A strong commitment to client-centered representation and criminal justice

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
