Overview
We are looking for a passionate and energetic Lead Teacher to guide our "Terrific Twos" through a pivotal stage of development. In this role, you will bridge the gap between infancy and preschool, fostering independence, language development, and social-emotional growth. Your goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and organized classroom environment where toddlers feel confident to explore and learn through play.
Duties
- Curriculum Leadership: Implement and adapt age-appropriate lesson plans (Creative Curriculum) that focus on sensory play, motor skills, and early literacy.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating environment that adheres to Florida DCF ratios and safety standards.
- Milestone Support: Lead the "potty training" journey with patience and partner with parents to ensure consistency between home and school.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, including mealtime supervision, diapering/toileting, and playground safety.
- Communication: Provide daily digital reports to parents (Procare) regarding meals, naps, and developmental progress.
- Observation & Assessment: Conduct formal and informal assessments to track developmental milestones and lead parent-teacher conferences.
Requirements
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated success working with toddlers (specifically age 2) in a licensed preschool setting.
- State Mandates: Must have completed the DCF 45-hour introductory childcare training.
- CDA or Degree in Early Childhood Education (Preferred).
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of childhood development, special education needs, and literacy education strategies.
- Compliance: Ability to pass Background Screening and maintain active CPR/First Aid certification.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and interact with children at their eye level (sitting, kneeling, stooping).

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
