Lead Barista

Job Title: Lead Barista (Part-Time, 15–25 hrs/week) – Inclusive Coffee Shop

HullHouse Coffee is a mission-driven café where young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities gain meaningful job training. We’re looking for a hard-working, dependable Lead Barista who can run shifts, open and close the shop, and keep operations strong while supporting our team. No experience required—we will train the right person.

What matters is dedication, reliability, and work ethic.

Position Overview:
The Lead Barista is a hands-on role. You’ll be behind the bar making drinks, leading by example, and guiding staff—including young adults with different abilities. This position requires someone who stays busy, shows up ready to work, and takes responsibility for the shop’s success.

What You’ll Do:

shift Tuesday 7am-3pm (close) Saturday 9am-4pm (close) Plus coverage for days off.

Open and close the shop independently (keyholder + cash handling).

Prepare coffee and specialty drinks to standard.

Stay busy: making drinks, restocking, cleaning, and leading by example.

Guide and support team members, including young adults with intellectual abilities.

Keep the shop safe, clean, and welcoming for customers.

Post simple updates to our social media (daily specials, events, photos of drinks, community highlights).

Step up when things get busy and handle challenges without complaining.

What We’re Looking For:

A no-excuses, dependable worker who shows up ready to go.

Someone who doesn’t stand around—if you see something that needs done, you do it.

Comfortable taking responsibility for opening/closing and keeping the shop on track.

Respectful and patient working alongside individuals with different abilities.

Must hold a valid Food Handler Card (or be willing to obtain one before starting).

Food Manager Certification preferred.

Flexible schedule—must be available mornings and weekends.

Able to work 15 - 25 hours per week consistently. Hourly Pay $14.00 + tips (average tips $4-$6/ hr, bringing most shifts to ~20 plus an hour)

Have reliable means to get to work in all weather.

Must be out of school and able to work, covering shifts during the school year during the Day also Sunday 7am shift when needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 14 – 25 per week
