Lead Barista

Job Summary

Duties

• Lead daily café operations, ensuring efficient workflow and excellent service standards
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
• Oversee food safety practices, proper food handling, and food preparation procedures in compliance with health regulations
• Manage cash handling, cashiering duties, and POS transactions using systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
• Train and mentor team members on beverage crafting, customer service techniques, and food service protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including equipment upkeep and stock replenishment
• Assist in sales efforts by engaging customers, promoting menu items, and upselling products to boost revenue

Experience

• Proven barista experience with a strong understanding of coffee brewing techniques and beverage presentation
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail food environment preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems such as CLOVER
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs professionally
• Knowledge of food safety standards, proper food handling procedures, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
• Experience with serving food items, cashiering, and managing cash registers with accuracy
