The Role
We’re looking for a friendly, passionate, and detail-oriented Café Barista to join our growing team. As one of the first faces guests see at COMMUNE, you will help create exceptional beverage experiences and deliver hospitality that feels genuine, effortless, and memorable.

Duties

• Lead and motivate a team of baristas to deliver outstanding beverage and food service with enthusiasm and professionalism
• Prepare a variety of specialty coffees, teas, smoothies, and other beverages according to established recipes and standards
• Oversee daily café operations, including opening, closing, and maintaining cleanliness and safety protocols in line with food safety regulations
• Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for accurate sales processing, cash handling, and transaction management
• Ensure efficient food preparation and serving processes while maintaining high standards of food handling and safety practices
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests warmly, addressing inquiries promptly, and resolving issues effectively
• Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, ingredients, supplies, and equipment; place orders as needed to prevent shortages
• Train new team members on beverage techniques, POS operation, food safety procedures, and customer service expectations

Skills

• Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage creation
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team toward shared goals
• Excellent time management skills to handle busy café hours efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions and cash handling
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to create a welcoming environment for diverse guests
• Knowledge of food safety regulations, proper food handling practices, and basic math skills for cashing out transactions
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced retail or food industry setting while ensuring accuracy in serving and sales processes

Pay: Up to $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
