Requirements:

  • Previous barista experience REQUIRED (2+ years specialty coffee preferred)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills/Customer-first mindset
  • Demonstrates ability to consistently produce high-quality latte art
  • Expertise in dialing in espresso grinders for optimal extraction
  • Proficient in managing fast-paced bar operations while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • Able to take on opening and closing shifts and complete tasks efficiently
  • Ability to educate guests, gauge preferences, and make thoughtful recommendations
  • Flexible availability (early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays)
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations and food safety standards
  • Food Handler Certificate (willing to obtain)
  • Maintains a polished, and professional appearance

Duties:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Train, mentor, and inspire a team of baristas to foster a positive, high-energy work environment.
  • Lead onboarding and ongoing training to uphold rigorous service, quality, and consistency standards.
  • Reinforce company culture and specialty coffee standards across the entire team.
  • Identify and mitigate unprofessional or toxic behaviors to maintain a safe, productive workspace.

Menu & Sales Strategy

  • Collaborate on menu development, including seasonal drink creation, recipe testing, and innovative product ideas.
  • Support sales growth by strategically promoting menu items, suggesting pairings, and utilizing upselling techniques.
  • Gauge customer preferences to provide expert recommendations based on taste profiles and menu knowledge.

Daily Operations & Equipment

  • Direct daily café operations, ensuring smooth, efficient service and consistently high product quality.
  • Dial in and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment daily to ensure optimal beverage quality.
  • Prepare and serve specialty coffee, tea, and food items with precision and consistency to brand standards.
  • Optimize bar workflow to maintain a fast, clean, and organized station during peak service hours.
  • Oversee inventory and stock management; provide precise ordering lists and manage rotation to minimize waste.

Customer Experience & Service

  • Deliver exceptional customer service as the primary point of contact, greeting guests and providing detailed menu guidance.
  • Process orders with high accuracy, paying meticulous attention to custom preferences (e.g., coffee blends, dairy, and ratios).
  • Address and resolve customer feedback or complaints promptly to ensure total satisfaction.

Administration & Compliance

  • Manage POS operations, cash handling, and daily opening/closing procedures, including detailed reporting to management.
  • Enforce strict compliance with all health, safety, and food regulations for both FOH and BOH areas.
  • Create and oversee cleaning schedules to ensure all café areas remain tidy, safe, and visually appealing.
  • Exercise store-level autonomy to solve unforeseen tasks and notify ownership of critical updates as needed.
