Lead Bartender - Belleview Tap & Burger

Our Tap & Burger location in the Tech Center is looking for a Full time Bar lead to join our fun team! We offer a great menu, fun bar to our patrons, and would love to set up interviews with qualified candidates.

Compensation range includes minimum wage plus tips, service charge, and a recurring weekly earning for bar lead duties.

PURPOSE

Lead Bartenders are responsible for providing excellent hospitality to all guests through the service of food, drinks, menu knowledge, and experience within the standards of our restaurant/bar. This role is expected to act in the best interests of the team and guests while performing their assigned duties, staying guest focused, and providing an exceptional guest experience. Lead Bartenders fully understand all table service as well as the creation of beverages to further enhance the guest’s experience. Lead Bartenders will also assist in training new hires as well as current employees. This role maintains and counts inventory, completes weekly orderings, and works with the Beverage Director and GM to maintain a pour cost of 21% or below.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform opening and/or closing duties of the restaurant/bar including but not limited to locking or unlocking doors, turning on lights and music, completing nightly drop of money into the safe, assisting the team on the floor when necessary.
  • Assist in training new hires while following the established company training.
  • Responsible for weekly inventory, weekly ordering and stock of all bar related supplies and products.
  • Assist Director of Beverage in creation and maintenance of cocktail menus.
  • Greet customers and provide excellent service to address their needs in a timely fashion.
  • Receives orders from guests and waitstaff.
  • Guide guests through the menu providing exceptional knowledge of beverage and food menu items while assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of all products behind the bar including but not limited to all wine, beers, spirits, and cocktails.
  • Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered and in a timely manner.
  • Serves prepared food.
  • Provide customers with product details, such as farms/farmers, products used or preparation descriptions.
  • Responsible for total service of their assigned section while in assistance to the rest of the team.
  • Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar.
  • Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized by following all health, safety and sanitation guidelines and standards.
  • Communicate customer feedback to management in a timely manner to be able to recover or thank guest experience.
  • Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
  • Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
  • Collects and process payments from guests for drinks and/or food prepared and served.
  • Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
  • Assists host in answering phone calls, answering guest questions, provide information, or take reservations, if necessary; understands how to place a guest on hold and/or take a message.
  • Responsible for delegating and maintaining cleanliness of all bar areas including but not limited to the walk-in cooler, liquor room and all areas behind the bar.
  • Assists in organization and unpacking of liquor, wine, and bar related products.
  • Ensure checklists and corresponding side work are delegated fairly and completed.
  • Completes nightly bar log, checklists, corresponding side work and communicates needs of the bar with the team and management.
  • Maintain, restock, and replenish bar inventory and supplies.
  • Refills ice bins.
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
  • Handles busy service independently and professionally.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service.
  • Well-organized with ability to take and place beverage and/or food orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to communicate issues with proper members of the team to assist in providing solutions.
  • Ability to retain information discussed at daily service meetings and relay to team members and guests.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures.
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking and problem solving quickly.
  • Ability to operate POS systems.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

  • Highschool diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of bartending experience.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends, and holiday
