Lead Bartender - Creative Development Role

Lead Bartender (creative roll) — Join Our Bar Team at The Rococo Dessert Bar

The Rococo Dessert Bar is seeking an experienced and visionary Bartender to lead and shape our bar program as we head into our summer season. After a phenomenal start, we’re looking for a passionate professional to bring both creativity and leadership to our unique dessert and craft cocktail experience.

This is a rare opportunity to take full creative ownership of a beverage program, designing an innovative cocktail menu that works in harmony with our dessert offerings—while building something truly distinctive and portfolio-worthy.

This is a full-time seasonal position, starting May 1st and requiring availability through mid-december.

Position Details Title: Bar Lead Base Pay: $20/hour + tips Incentives:

  • Profit sharing on signature cocktails
  • End-of-season performance bonus

Schedule: Full-time, evenings & weekends required Season: May 1st – mid December Location: Kennebunk, Maine

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creative direction and execution of our seasonal craft cocktail program
  • Design and develop a menu that complements and elevates our dessert offerings
  • Execute consistent, high-quality beverage service with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to foster a positive, professional environment
  • Implement and uphold rigorous quality control standards
  • Manage bar inventory and assist with ordering of liquor, wine, beer, and supplies
  • Oversee bar prep, including syrups, juices, garnishes, and batching
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar
  • Learn and embody the Rococo brand—both the art movement and our company’s story
  • Host cocktail events and curated dessert + cocktail pairing nights
  • Mentor and guide bar staff, setting a high standard of service and creativity

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in a fast-paced, hospitality-forward environment
  • Strong knowledge of craft cocktails, spirits, and seasonal ingredients
  • A creative, conceptual approach to menu development
  • Basic knowledge of wine, beer, coffee, and food
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and team-building skills
  • Excellent hospitality and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and execute at a high level
  • Capable of multitasking while maintaining an organized bar and a positive attitude
