Lead Before and After Care Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Lead Before and After Care Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will be the guiding force behind creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children before and after school hours. Your leadership will ensure that each child feels valued, supported, and inspired to explore their interests while fostering positive behavior and development. As a lead educator, you will coordinate activities, manage classroom routines, and collaborate with staff to deliver a high-quality care experience that promotes growth and learning.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in children
  • Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement and effective behavior management strategies
  • Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety policies, including first aid procedures when necessary
  • Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children's progress, daily activities, and any concerns
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers or staff members to foster teamwork and professional growth
  • Coordinate with school administration to align program goals with curriculum standards and community values
  • Foster an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and individual needs, including those related to special education or behavioral challenges

Skills

  • Strong classroom management skills to create a structured yet flexible learning environment
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones
  • Experience in working with children in daycare, preschool, camp settings, or tutoring environments
  • Ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively
  • First aid certification to respond promptly to emergencies
  • Familiarity with special education needs and inclusive teaching strategies
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members
  • Experience in sports coaching, theater arts, babysitting or childcare enhances your ability to connect with children creatively

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
