Purpose of the Role
The Lead BCBA serves as both a clinical expert and team leader, guiding a group of behavior analysts and technicians to deliver high-quality ABA services. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that programming is individualized, data-driven, and consistent with best practices in Applied Behavior Analysis, while also providing mentorship, oversight, and support to staff and families.
Key Responsibilities

Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and performance feedback to BCBAs, RBTs, and behavior technicians.

Design, implement, and monitor individualized behavior intervention and skill acquisition programs.

Conduct functional behavior assessments and other empirically based evaluations.

Analyze and graph data to track progress and guide clinical decisions.

Collaborate closely with families, therapists, educators, and interdisciplinary professionals to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care.

Maintain compliance with BACB guidelines, Missouri state regulations, insurance requirements, and organizational policies.

Participate in program development, quality assurance initiatives, and staff training.

Promote a positive and inclusive culture that supports collaboration, professional growth, and ethical practice.

Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance feedback to all site employees, including BCBAs, RBTs, and support staff.

Monitor key site metrics weekly, analyzing trends and implementing proactive strategies to achieve site goals.
Skills & Abilities
-
Professional Experience: At least two years of related professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a multidisciplinary team setting.

Insurance & Medical Model Knowledge: Familiarity with ABA insurance billing processes and the medical model of care.

Early Intervention Expertise: Understanding of early intervention principles and developmental milestones.

Technical Knowledge:

Expert knowledge of scientifically validated ABA methodologies and intervention strategies.

Skilled in writing ABA programs, analyzing data, and creating graphical representations of progress.

Expertise in empirically evaluated assessment tools and treatment models.

Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey behavioral concepts clearly and compassionately.

Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and spend extended periods on your feet. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.

Transportation: Reliable transportation is required to travel between service locations as needed.
Qualifications

Master’s Degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field.

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Licensed as a Behavior Analyst in the State of Missouri.

Minimum of two years of experience providing ABA services; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
