Lead Café Operations Barista (18-21 Hours)

Primary Function

The Lead Café Operations Barista serves as the operational lead for the Market Café, ensuring a consistent guest experience, smooth daily operations, and effective coordination of café staff, inventory, and workflow. Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides collaborative leadership while helping cultivate the Café as a welcoming third space within The Meetinghouse.

Key Responsibilities

Hospitality & Guest Experience

• Model exceptional hospitality and create a culture of belonging.
• Ensure consistent guest service standards.
• Address guest concerns and support positive community interactions.
• Foster an atmosphere where guests feel welcomed and connected.

Operations & Workflow

• Lead front-of-house operations during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate daily workflow and task assignments.
• Ensure opening, closing, and reset procedures are completed consistently.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness throughout the café.

Scheduling & Team Development

• Coordinate weekly staff scheduling.
• Support onboarding and training of café team members.
• Coach staff on hospitality standards, beverage quality, and operational procedures.
• Foster a collaborative team culture aligned with The Meetinghouse values.

Inventory & Supply Management

• Manage ordering and inventory of coffee, milk, paper goods, food products, and café supplies.
• Monitor inventory levels and maintain established par levels.
• Coordinate with Operations regarding equipment maintenance and facility needs.

Administrative Support

• Assist with POS oversight and cash-handling procedures.
• Maintain operational logs and inventory records.
• Communicate regularly with the Program Manager regarding café performance and operational needs.
