Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Lead Clinical Behavioral Specialist to join our team. The Lead Clinical Behavioral Specialist provides a full scope of clinical oversight and support for residentially based behavioral programs funded by the MA Department of Developmental Services. This role is responsible for the development and implementation of treatment plans, as well as the hands-on integrity of data collection and staff training.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Under the supervision of PBS Qualified Clinician, lead the development and revision of Positive Behavioral Support Plans (PBSP) and Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA).
  • Design and produce supporting clinical materials, including visual supports, communication aids, and social stories to ensure plan accessibility.
  • Research, develop, and implement evidence-based curricula tailored to the specific clinical needs of individuals.
  • Facilitate training in sensitive and high-risk areas, including Sexuality Education, Healthy Relationships, and social media/Internet Safety.
  • Adapt educational materials to accommodate various cognitive levels, communication styles, and sensory needs to ensure meaningful learning outcomes.
  • Manage the full data lifecycle: collect and review staff entries from Monthly Data Sheets, synthesize findings into behavioral graphs, and present summaries for psychiatric appointments, ISPs, and team meetings.
  • Ensure all clinical records and Medication Treatment Plans are current and meet state/funding source regulations.
  • Provide orientation and in-service training to direct support staff professionals.
  • Conduct regular "fidelity checks" in residential programs to ensure PBSPs and specialized curricula are implemented and followed exactly as written.
  • Serve as the clinical liaison between individuals, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in a rotating weekly on-call schedule for emergency clinical consultations.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule for afternoon/evening home visits to provide direct support and build effective relationships with individuals during peak transition times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), or a related Human Services field
  • Certification or documented training in Sexuality Education for individuals with IDD (e.g., Elevatus Training) or Digital Literacy/Cyber-Safety is highly desirable
  • 10 years or more of experience providing direct support to individuals with intellectual disabilities or behavioral health challenges
  • Proven experience facilitating small-group or 1-on-1 educational sessions, specifically related to life skills, social boundaries, or healthy relationships
  • Experience implementing Positive Behavioral Support Plans (PBSP) and accurately collecting behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC data)
  • Skill in taking existing clinical goals and turning them into accessible "plain language" lessons or visual schedules a plus
  • Ability to build rapport with individuals during high-stress transition times (afternoons/evenings) to model behavioral interventions for staff
  • Proficiency in using data-tracking software, Excel for graphing, and Canva or similar tools for creating visual aids and social stories preferred
  • Comfortable discussing sensitive topics like sexual health and online safety with individuals and their families
  • Working knowledge of Excel or similar graphing programs and basic statistical skills required (e.g., computing averages, percentages, trend lines, etc.)
  • Knowledge of behavior theory and principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Current and valid driver’s license in the state of residence
  • Qualifying criminal background and driving record
  • Professional oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Pay: $69,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
