Job Description
The Lead CNC Machinist is considered a Subject Matter Expert for CNC lathe operations. This position acts as a liaison between Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Management, and CNC Machinists to ensure all technical and operational standards are documented, understood, and applied daily.
The role of Lead Machinist is to support achieving quality and productivity expectations for each shift’s machinists. The Lead CNC Machinist supports production changeovers and recovery, interprets detailed blueprints, ensures quality, and coaches and trains others to do the same.

Responsibilities
· Reads and fully understands technical drawings and setup sheets
· Able to teach proper techniques for changing tool blocks, boring bars, end mills, etc.
· Can complete changeovers, tool changes, and offset adjustments independently.
· Communicates effectively with peers, leaders, and support functions
· Applies critical thinking for efficient problem solving
· Demonstrates adaptability and appropriate interpersonal skills
Qualifications
· Must be a U.S. Citizen due to ITAR regulations
· Machine Tool Technology Degree -or- 5+ years relevant experience in CNC machining
· Familiarity with various types and applications of metrology equipment
· Able to lift 35 lbs. on occasion
· Requires constant standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
· Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including working in and around moving parts, chemicals, lights/lasers, etc.
· Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Compensation
Hourly non-exempt position, including health, vision, dental, & disability insurance, PTO, and 401K benefits.
Pay: $39.00 - $41.00 per hour
