About Wit.Co:
Wit.Co is a female-owned commercial interior and graphic design firm specializing in creating captivating branded environments and functional spaces for our clients. At our core, we’re all about great design, interesting spaces, and clever solutions. We believe a space should tell a brand’s story before you even say hello. Our favorite projects? The ones where we get to bring both sides of our business together—starting with a fresh logo and branding and then using that as the foundation for a full-scale interior transformation. From paint colors and finishes to custom furniture, fixtures and wall graphics, we love making thoughtful choices that bring each space to life in a way that’s both unique and functional.
We love what we do and where we do it. We value family, time away, and a great work-life balance—while also embracing the reality that the occasional late night or weekend work trip is just part of the adventure. If this sounds like your kind of place, we’d love to hear from you!
Job Summary:
We’re seeking a Commercial or Environmental Graphic Designer with a strong background in large-scale graphic design for commercial environments to join our growing team. In this role, you will take creative direction from senior designers and independently develop it into fully realized environmental graphic systems, including signage, wayfinding, wall treatments, and other built environmental elements. You must be able to think beyond the screen—considering how graphics interact with architecture, scale, materials, and user experience within a physical space. This can include translating sketches into detailed graphic wall treatments, designing functional building signage, and wayfinding signage–just to name a few. You will collaborate closely with our design team, suppliers, signage contractors, and clients to ensure the details of the design vision are communicated clearly and that the finished product is executed efficiently, on time, and with the highest level of quality. Your attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously will be critical to your success in this role.
This is a lead, hands-on role for someone who is confident in taking ownership of a design scope from concept through installation and ensuring it is executed at the highest level of quality.
If you’re a go-getter with a fun-loving attitude, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Leadership & Execution
- Lead the development of environmental graphics, signage systems, and wall treatments from concept through final design.
- Translate creative direction into elevated, client-facing presentations that clearly communicate design intent and strategy.
- Take ownership of the graphic design scope—independently advancing concepts into fully resolved, thoughtful, and brand-aligned solutions.
- Ensure a high level of design quality, consistency, and cohesion across all project touchpoints.
2. Production Oversight & Coordination
- Oversee the development of accurate, production-ready artwork and documentation for fabrication.
- Collaborate closely with the signage production manager to align design intent with fabrication methods, budgets, and timelines.
- Anticipate and resolve production challenges.
3. Documentation & Specifications
- Lead the development of graphic packages, including design intent drawings, elevations, and specification documentation.
- Partner with the interior design team to integrate graphics with materials, finishes, and architectural elements.
- Ensure all documentation is clear, thorough, and aligned with project requirements for permitting, fabrication, and installation.
4. File Management & Standards
- Establish and maintain best practices for file organization, naming conventions, and version control across projects.
- Oversee the organization and accuracy of all project files, including design iterations, approvals, revisions, and correspondence.
5. Collaboration, Communication & Client Interface
- Serve as a key point of contact for the graphic design scope, confidently presenting work and communicating design rationale to clients and stakeholders.
- Foster strong relationships with internal teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Provide clear direction and feedback to junior team members, supporting their growth and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Contribute to internal design reviews and help elevate overall team output.
6. Installation Oversight & Quality Control
- Support and, when needed, lead on-site installation reviews to ensure work is executed according to design intent.
- Identify and resolve field issues, coordinating with vendors and internal teams to implement solutions efficiently.
- Uphold a high standard of quality control through final execution.
7. Ownership & Accountability
- Own the graphic design scope within projects from concept through installation, ensuring continuity, accuracy, and design integrity throughout.
- Manage priorities, timelines, and deliverables for the graphic scope with minimal oversight, proactively communicating risks or needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of professional graphic design experience designing for commercial interior spaces.
- Proven experience in design project coordination or related roles.
