Lead Data Engineer

Description:

NOTE: This is a full-time employment opportunity (open to W2, 1099 or C2C, no third parties, please). The candidate MUST be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and able to complete/pass/hold a public trust investigation. This is a remote opportunity; candidate must be based in the United States; have resided in the US for the last 3 years of the past 5 years; ET time zone work schedule.

Daily Responsibilities

• The Lead Data Engineer is responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and processing across the platform.
• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines (API, batch, FHIR).
• Develop ETL/ELT processes using modern data engineering tools.
• Optimize data processing performance and scalability.
• Implement validation and monitoring mechanisms.
• Collaborate with architecture and analytics teams.

Requirements:

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must have resided in the United States for the past 3 years within the last 5 years.
• Must be able to complete/pass/hold at a minimum a federal public trust investigation.
• 10+ years of experience in data engineering.
• 5+ years working with big data tools (e.g., Spark, Databricks)
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
• Strong programming and data pipeline development skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
