We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Lead Data Engineer/Architect with a proven background in designing, building, and optimizing modern data platforms. This hybrid role is ideal for a data professional who can architect scalable solutions while remaining hands-on in engineering high-performance data pipelines and integrations. You will be responsible for leading the design and implementation of enterprise data architectures, ensuring data quality, governance, and security, while driving innovation across cloud and on-premise environments. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in modern data engineering tools and frameworks, a strong architectural vision, and a passion for building robust, automated, and future-ready data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

    esign and implement scalable data architecture and data modeling strategies based on business requirements, ensuring high data quality and reduced redundancy.

    Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources and ensure accuracy, consistency, and availability for reporting and analytics.

    Evaluate, implement, and configure BI tools such as Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and Cognos to support data visualization, reporting, and analytics solutions.

    Monitor and optimize performance of the BI system by tuning queries and optimizing data structures for efficient data processing and reporting.

    Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver effective, business-aligned data solutions.

    Establish data governance policies and security protocols to ensure data quality, privacy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

    Lead and mentor engineering team members, contributing to a high-performance, collaborative development culture.

Qualifications

    8–10 years of software development and deployment experience, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in:
      SQL, Databricks, ADF, DataStage (or other ETL tools)

      SSAS Cubes, Cognos, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, and other BI tools

    Proficient in writing complex SQL for raw data processing, Kafka ingestion, ADF pipelines, data validation, and QA

    Strong experience with data modeling, building scalable BI solutions, and distributed applications

    Hands-on experience in building data ingestion pipelines and designing data warehouse or database architecture

    Strong database knowledge with experience in both SQL and NoSQL systems

    Experience with writing design documentation, source-to-target mapping, and managing Confluence pages

    Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical Jira stories

    Skilled in analyzing large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights

    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills

    Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

    Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills with a data-driven mindset

Preferred Skills:

    Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Scala, Python, Java, or R

    Experience with APIs for data ingestion

    Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or equivalent

    Experience with data processing technologies such as Spark, Hive

    Knowledge of continuous integration frameworks and tools like GitHub and Jenkins

    Background in agile development environments and startup-like team dynamics

    Passionate, articulate, and eager to contribute in a collaborative, high-impact team setting
