Job Title: Daycare Lead Teacher (Lead teacher for the 'Ages 2-3' Room)

Job Summary:

Lead Teacher will oversee the daily operations of the pre-school room daycare classroom, providing structured learning and play experiences that promote child development. The teacher will guide assistants, communicate with parents, and ensure compliance with state and center regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

● Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that encourage cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.

● Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and structured classroom environment, ensuring children’s safety and engagement.

● Supervision & Care: Monitor children during activities, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being.

● Assessment & Reporting: Track and document children's progress, behavior, and milestones, sharing updates with parents and administrators.

● Parent Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with parents regarding their child’s development and daily activities.

● Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor assistant teachers, providing guidance and support.

● Health & Safety Compliance: Follow and enforce health, safety, and sanitation guidelines as per state and daycare policies.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent. Also, the applicant should be lead teacher qualified meaning the applicant must have either:

  • Sixty semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six; or
  • One year (1560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester or nine quarter hours in courses related directly to child care and/or child development, from birth to age six.

An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not required.

Previous experience in a childcare setting, preferably as a teacher or assistant.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Passion for working with infants and fostering their growth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
