Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Dentist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive clinical expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. This role offers an opportunity to oversee clinical operations, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of dental treatment within a collaborative environment. Candidates should have proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, and Dentrix, along with a comprehensive understanding of general dentistry and specialized procedures including pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and dental fabrication. A thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation, infection control protocols, and dental terminology is essential.
Duties
- Lead and manage daily clinical operations within the dental practice to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care
- Perform comprehensive dental examinations, patient assessments, and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver a wide range of dental services including general dentistry procedures, root canal therapy, dental extractions, prosthodontics, and oral surgery
- Oversee and ensure adherence to infection control standards and aseptic techniques in all clinical activities
- Utilize advanced dental imaging technologies and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Supervise and mentor dental staff, including hygienists and assistants; provide training on four-handed dentistry techniques and new procedures
- Collaborate with administrative staff to optimize patient scheduling, documentation, and medical records management
- Stay current with advancements in dental technology and best practices to continually improve patient outcomes
- Ensure compliance with all legal requirements related to medical documentation, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution; valid state licensure required
- Proven experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in pediatric dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, or oral surgery preferred
- Demonstrated proficiency with dental practice management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical documentation standards, and infection control procedures
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess complex cases and develop effective treatment plans
- Leadership experience within a dental clinic or practice setting; capable of supervising clinical staff effectively
- Exceptional communication skills with a thorough understanding of dental terminology and medical terminology
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in all aspects of practice
