Job Description
Technical Expertise

Strong working knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including:
-
Battery chemistry
-
Duty cycling and performance metrics (Round Trip Efficiency, Cycle Life, etc.)
-
Design optimization for efficiency and reliability
-
Battery safety
-
Battery inverter systems
-
Proven project engineering and delivery experience in energy storage projects within engineering or consulting environments.

Preferred experience in performing system studies.
-
Familiarity with DC/DC converter operation.
-
Knowledge of hybrid renewable energy system design, including:
-
Solar PV
-
Wind energy systems
-
Battery storage
-
Hands‑on experience with:

Competence in:

Battery system design
-
Inverter design
-
Integration with MV/HV substations
-
Working knowledge of:

MATLAB Script
-
Simulink
-
HOMER
-
ETAP

Strong understanding of control logic and simulation.

Knowledge of:

Panel architecture

Heat ventilation

Temperature rise calculations

Strong understanding of battery inverter logics and operation modes (VAR mode, PF mode, etc.).
Engineering & Analytical Skills

Experience in root cause analysis and providing effective solutions.

Ability to develop ideas, contribute to value engineering, and deliver cost‑optimized designs with high performance and reliability.

Capable of preparing technical specifications (including tender specifications) and reviewing tender responses.
-
Conduct engineering reviews, quality assurance checks, and approve design drawings, reports, and deliverables.
-
Prepare FAT specifications, test plans, and review/interpret test reports.
-
Ensure full compliance with Quality and Health & Safety systems, operating within company design management procedures.
Coordination & Project Support
-
Provide technical advice and installation support during the construction phase.

Coordinate daily with design teams including:

Civil engineers
-
Instrumentation engineers
-
CAD technicians
-
Coordinate inputs from other departments and external groups such as:
-
Survey/geotechnical teams
-
Transport teams
-
Environmental teams
-
Ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines and meet client scope and technical specifications.

Act as a point of contact with vendors/clients during various design phases (as required).
